Dr. Amit Rawal has obtained his Ph.D from The University of Bolton. He also received Masters of Philosophy in the field of Textile Materials from The University of Manchester. He has been awarded Young Researcher Fellowship from prestigious M.I.T, Cambridge for exemplary research in Computational Mechanics. He has actively been involved in developing the geometrical and mechanical models for various textile materials. His research interests include structure-property relationship of geotextiles, piezoelectric behaviour of dual- scale nonwovens, superhydrophobic behaviour of nonwoven mats, nonwoven composites and structural mechanics of braids.  He has published several papers in various fields of textile materials and related structures. He is also an editorial board member of leading international textile journals. Currently, he is working as an Assistant Professor at Department of Textile Technology at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
